I couldn’t be more proud of this work – this was a collaboration I did with Amatsi, a brilliant artist from Phoenix, AZ. Amatsi and I met on the Internet after I saw a post of his saying, “Aren’t there any great producers out there that just want to collaborate?”
Short answer – yes! We took a sketch of a track Amatsi had created called Blue Disco, and I expanded it, taking it in a bit of a different direction incorporating some live analog instrumentation with guitars to capture the “Disco” vibe, but then also leaning into texture and a soundscape that enhances the vibe and dark consternation of the track as well. The result is something both of us had not imagined in the beginning.
